"Hiking Boots Woman"

Well you’re a real fine man, you do the best that you can
To treat me nice, but don’t think twice
That I’m a-going to stay for too many days
‘Cause you’ll wake up one morning and you’ll see I’m gone.
It’s not that I think you’ve been untrue,
You know I really like being here with you
But I’m a hiking boots woman.
I’ve gotta get moving along.
You’d like to settle down in a little town
And have some kids and maybe make a bid
On a little farm with a big red barn,
And a brick fireplace for when the kids are gone.
But I can’t settle down, you see I’ve tried.
It’s the life style that I just can’t buy.
‘Cause I’m a back packing woman.
Too restless to build me a home.
We can both cook the stew, clean a floor or two
Or wash the truck and even earn a buck
And take a pleasant walk and have a heart-warming talk
And do all the things to make a happy home.
It’s not that you don’t do your share,
Or even that I just don’t care
But I’m a road-loving woman,
My bags are ready to go.
